  1. CO-PRESENCES, interactive touch-sensitive and sound cartography,, 2010/2012

Cartography on a stand. Touch-sensitive reading on iPad 2. Stereo listening with headphone.
Application for iPad developed in the EMeRI - FDM Research Lab of the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs de Paris ENSADLab.

CO-PRESENCES is a tactile and sound cartography of the tube station Auber in Paris. The whole process is based on a sensitive approach and perception of the space. Co-Présences offers an appreciation of the place through the bodies, still and moving, and a sensitive read of the mapped space. The Auber tube station is a place of intercommunications where the bodies are moving and crossing each other with various rhythm during the day. This presence and this traffic are defined by the shape of the place itself. They are drawing a sense-based cartography of the station. Each body determine a speed and a presence time. These data are extracted and analyzed by video. They are formatted in a book of spaces scores that I used to create a sounding matter. Sound is used to explore Auber. The cartography is developed on an iPad 2. The user reads the mapped space with the fingers ; touch and movements producing sounds. The space is read by the touch and the sound. The intensity and the frequency depend on the moves and the traffic of the bodies and their location in Auber.
